When you need a registered nurse, not a caregiver
Feeding tube or urinary catheter
Nasogastric tubes and urinary catheters need scheduled changes, typically every two to four weeks, and tube position must be verified before every feed.
Tracheostomy and suctioning
The group that needs a nurse most — incorrect suctioning injures the airway lining and invites infection. The nurse manages the tube and trains the family to do it safely.
Pressure sores or chronic wounds
Pressure sores must be staged before choosing a dressing method; the wrong technique makes them deteriorate faster than no dressing at all.
Overnight bedside cover
At home or in a hospital room, for families with jobs and no one to rotate with. Night is when deterioration most often goes unnoticed.
Multiple conditions and medications
Older adults on many medicines risk interactions and mistimed doses. The nurse organises the regimen, tracks side effects and reports back to the treating doctor.
Registered nurse vs caregiver vs helper
The real difference is legal scope, not price. A common mistake is hiring a monthly caregiver and expecting them to change a feeding tube or suction — outside their scope, and a genuine infection and injury risk.

Do you provide bedside care in hospital?
Yes. The nurse stays in the hospital room, monitors the patient, assists with daily needs, coordinates with ward staff and explains what is happening to the family — useful after surgery or when nobody can rotate the night watch.
Can tubes and catheters be changed at home?
Yes. Urinary catheter change is THB 2,200; NG tube change is THB 1,600 standard or THB 1,900 silicone. Both are typically changed every two to four weeks depending on tube type and the doctor's orders, and tube position is verified before every use.
Can pressure sores be dressed at home?
Yes. Wound care for a size S, grade 1–2 sore is THB 1,200 per visit (consumables not included). The nurse stages the wound before choosing a dressing method and teaches the family what to do between visits and which signs need urgent reporting.
Can you cover 24 hours?
Yes, by rotating more than one nurse; this is quoted per case on 061-881-9399. A cheaper pattern is a live-in caregiver plus a nurse for procedure rounds only.
