If you hire someone to care for your parent at home, how can you be confident about what happens while you are away? Our answer at KIN HomeCare is to let the family see it every day. The caregiver sends a daily care record into your family LINE group, covering food and fluids, each medication round, toileting, repositioning and skin condition, vital signs, and your parent's mood that day. The staff we send are selected and trained by our nursing manager, who keeps following their work after the assignment starts, and when the regular caregiver is on leave we send a backup.

This article explains what a day's record contains, why it goes through LINE rather than an app, who selects and supervises the staff, what a monthly booking adds, and what each option costs.

Quick summary

  • A care record reaches the family LINE group every day, and anything urgent is reported immediately rather than held until the summary
  • It covers food and fluids, each medication round, toileting, repositioning and skin condition, vital signs, and mood
  • It uses the LINE group your family already has, so there is no new app and siblings in other provinces see it at the same time
  • The nursing manager selects, interviews, trains and follows up on the staff
  • Monthly bookings include one registered nurse home visit within the first 3 days, with an assessment and a written care plan, for Bangkok and surrounding provinces, for contracts signed by 31 Dec 2026
  • When the regular caregiver is away, a backup takes over and can read the home's earlier records
  • Monthly 30 days: THB 30,000 for a 12-hour shift and THB 36,000 for a 24-hour shift; daily from THB 1,800 with a 3-day minimum

1. What families are really afraid of, and it is not the fee

When a family decides to hire someone to care for a parent at home, the question asked out loud is usually about price. The question that stays unspoken is a different one: we are about to let someone we barely know spend twelve hours a day with our parent, in a house where we are not present.

That worry is reasonable. Hiring through an agent or privately usually comes with nothing to back it up. There is no record of what happened each day, nobody checks the quality of the work, and when that person takes leave the family has to find a replacement alone. The only update the adult child hears in the evening is that everything was fine today.

We designed this service around two rules: the family must see what happens in the house every day, and someone on our side must own the quality, rather than simply sending a person and stopping there.

2. What a day's record covers

The record does not say care was provided and leave it there. It is written as items that can be checked.

  • Food and fluids: how many meals, how much was eaten, roughly how much was drunk
  • Medication: whether every round was given on time, and any round your parent refused
  • Toileting: normal or not, and how many pad changes
  • Repositioning and skin condition: for someone who cannot get up unaided this is the heart of it, turning every 2 hours and checking pressure points for redness, because pressure injuries are far easier to prevent than to deal with once they appear
  • Vital signs: blood pressure, pulse, temperature
  • Mood and communication: bright or withdrawn, how much conversation, what activities were done

Families tend to value the last one most, because it keeps them feeling close rather than only reading numbers.

3. Why the family LINE group instead of an app

Because more than one person needs to read it. Most Thai families have several children living in different provinces, and some abroad. Ask them to install an app and create an account, and in the end one person actually looks at it, then has to relay everything to the others anyway.

Sending it into the family LINE group means

  • no new app to install, it is the tool everyone in the family already uses daily
  • every sibling sees it at the same time, so nobody misses out and nobody has to act as the go-between
  • questions can be asked immediately in the group
  • it can be scrolled back, which helps before a hospital appointment

4. Who selects the staff and who checks the work

This is where the service differs most from hiring privately or through an agent.

Sarinee Suphaphon, RN, Nursing Manager at KIN HomeCare (nursing licence 6211292736) personally selects and interviews caregivers, trains them, and follows up on the quality of those assigned to clients' homes. She also makes home visits to assess the situation, write the care plan and talk with the family.

In short, the person who arrives at your house is not someone who applied and was passed along. They were chosen and trained by a registered nurse, and someone continues to watch over the work after the assignment begins.

For the rehabilitation side, a rehabilitation physician sets the standard at KIN and helps when a case runs into problems.

The scope of each profession differs. See registered nurse versus caregiver.

5. Monthly bookings include a registered nurse home visit

For clients who book monthly, on either a 12-hour or a 24-hour shift, there is an inclusion designed specifically for the difficult first days: one registered nurse home visit within the first 3 days of the caregiver starting.

On that visit the nurse assesses the situation in the home, writes the care plan as a document, briefs the caregiver in front of the family, and teaches relatives the parts they need to help with, such as safe transfer positions, positioning in bed, and which signs need reporting straight away. The advantage is that the nurse sees the work as it actually happens and can correct things on the spot.

This inclusion covers Bangkok and the surrounding provinces. Caregivers are available nationwide, but our nurses cannot make home visits upcountry. It applies to contracts signed by 31 Dec 2026.

6. What happens when the regular caregiver is away

This matters more than people expect, because a household with someone who cannot manage alone cannot go even one day without cover.

With KIN HomeCare the staff work as one team under the nursing manager. When the regular caregiver is on leave we send a backup, and that person can read the home's earlier records, so they know the medication, the allergies and the repositioning schedule without the family having to explain everything again.

8. Frequently asked questions

How often is the record sent? Once a day at the end of the shift, and immediately during the day if something changes.

Can we ask for extra items in the record? Yes. Some families want fluid intake in more detail, others want a photo of meals. Just tell the team.

What if we are not satisfied with the work? Contact the nursing manager directly. We have a process to adjust the assignment or arrange different staff.

How is this different from using an agent? An agent's job ends when the person reaches your door. Ours continues with selection, training, record checking and backup cover for the whole booking.

Is there an equivalent on the physiotherapy side? Yes, a report after every session. See the home physiotherapy report.
